Welcome to Darbhanga Rush. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application ("App") or play the game. Please read this privacy policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access the App.
Darbhanga Rush is designed to be a self-contained, offline-friendly game that works without an account. The game is fully playable without sharing anything beyond the anonymous analytics and crash reports described below. We respect your data and privacy:
Darbhanga Rush has an optional global leaderboard. Your scores are only posted to it if you say yes: the first time you set a new high score the game asks whether you would like to post it, and you can also post from the Leaderboard screen at any time. Once you have joined, your new high scores are posted automatically, without asking again, until you delete your entry (see section 6). When you join, we collect and store:
Your display name and score are public: every player of the game can see them on the leaderboard. When you post, the game also sends the distance and makhana count of that run so the score can be checked for plausibility; these are not stored.
Even if you have not joined, opening the Leaderboard screen downloads the list of top scores and sends your random player identifier to our server so the game can show your rank. This does not create a leaderboard entry. Like any internet request, your IP address is seen by Cloudflare, which hosts the leaderboard (see section 1.4). We use it only to deliver the request and to limit abusive request rates, and we do not store it in the leaderboard database.
The App uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, services provided by Google, to collect anonymous usage and diagnostic information. This information is not tied to your name, email address, or any other personal detail. It includes:
We do not collect your advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android), and we do not use this data to track you across other companies' apps and websites.
The App uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, provided by Google LLC, to understand how the game is used, to find and fix crashes, and to improve it. Google processes the information described above on our behalf. For details on how Google handles this data, please see Google's Privacy Policy and Privacy and Security in Firebase. The optional leaderboard is hosted on Cloudflare, Inc. (Cloudflare Workers and its D1 database), which processes the leaderboard information described in section 1.2 on our behalf. For details, see Cloudflare's Privacy Policy. The App contains no advertising. Tapping the "More Games" or privacy policy links opens our website in an in-app browser.
We use the information we collect to:
Game progress and high scores are stored locally on your device. Apart from the leaderboard entry you choose to post (see section 1.2), this data is private to your device and is not synchronized with our servers or shared with other devices.
Anonymous analytics data and crash reports are sent to Google's Firebase servers over an encrypted connection. Crash reports are sent the next time the App is opened after a crash, or when an error occurs. This data is not linked to your identity. Event-level analytics data, including the app instance identifier, is kept for 2 months and then automatically deleted. Crash reports are kept for 90 days and then automatically deleted. Aggregated analytics reports contain no individual-level data.
Leaderboard data is sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to a Cloudflare Worker and stored in a Cloudflare database. Only the top 100 players on each board are kept: an entry that falls outside the top 100 is deleted automatically. An entry that stays in the top 100 is kept until it is removed at your request (see section 6) or is pushed out by other players. Cloudflare may process this data in the countries where it operates.
We implement appropriate technical measures to protect your data. Since your game progress is kept on your local device, the security of that data relies on your device's security settings. Apart from the anonymous analytics and crash reports described above and the optional leaderboard entry described in section 1.2, we do not transmit or store your gameplay data on external servers.
We do not sell, rent, or trade any information. The only third parties that receive data from the App are Google (Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics), which processes anonymous usage, crash and diagnostic data on our behalf, and Cloudflare, which hosts the optional leaderboard, as described above. If you join the leaderboard, your display name and score are visible to other players of the game. We may also disclose information if required by law.
The App is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. The App does not ask for real names, email addresses, or other personal details, contains no advertising, and does not collect advertising identifiers. The optional leaderboard lets a player choose a display name that other players can see; the game suggests a randomly generated one, and we ask everyone, including parents and guardians helping a younger player, not to enter personal information in it. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, including in a leaderboard display name, please contact us and we will delete it.
Darbhanga Rush has no accounts, and the anonymous analytics and crash data described above is not tied to your name or any other personal detail. Because of this, we cannot look up data belonging to a particular person. You can remove all locally stored game data by uninstalling the App, which also resets the anonymous app instance and Crashlytics installation identifiers, so any data collected earlier is no longer connected to you. Data already collected is deleted automatically: event-level analytics data after 2 months and crash reports after 90 days.
Leaderboard entries. Whether to post a score is your choice, and nothing is posted unless you say yes. You can delete your entry yourself at any time: open the Leaderboard screen and tap "Delete my entry" (and tap again to confirm). This removes your display name and score from our servers and stops the game from posting new scores until you choose to join again. Uninstalling the App does not remove an entry you have already posted, so please delete it first if you want it gone. If you can no longer use the App, contact us through our Support page or at the email address below, tell us the display name and score shown on the entry, and we will remove it. Entries outside the top 100 are deleted automatically.
If you have any questions about our data practices, contact us through our Support page or using the details below.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
